30+ years in South Sacramento. 25+ years of public service. Fighting for cleaner, safer, stronger neighborhoods.
"Public service should never be for sale."
Election Day: June 2, 2026 — Every second counts.
Make Your Voice Count →Santiago Morales Jr.'s parents immigrated from El Salvador to build a better life. He was born at UC Davis Medical Center and grew up right here in South Sacramento, graduating from Luther Burbank High School. This isn't a politician parachuting in — this is someone who grew up on these streets.
Married for over 22 years with four children, Santiago has spent 25+ years in public service — at Covered California, the California Student Aid Commission, the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, and the Department of Industrial Relations. His career has been about one thing: helping real people navigate real systems.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, he listens, shows up, and works alongside the community every day. This isn't his first run — he ran for District 8 in 2020, learned from it, and came back stronger for District 5.
This campaign is powered by conversations, not contributions. Santiago accepts zero donations and zero endorsements — because the only people he answers to are the residents of District 5.
"District 5 deserves a representative who listens, shows up, and works alongside the community every day."
"My decisions will be guided by the needs of our neighborhoods, not by special interests."
— Santiago Morales Jr.

What Santiago will fight for on the City Council.
Every family deserves to feel safe. Santiago will push for better lighting, faster emergency response, community policing, and cleaner public spaces throughout District 5.
Rising costs are pushing families out. Santiago will fight for affordable housing protections, renter rights, and programs that help working families stay in their neighborhoods.
When you call City Hall, someone should answer. Santiago will demand faster response times, better communication, and services that work for the people.
Stronger after-school programs, senior services, job training, and resources that help families thrive — not just survive.
This campaign runs on people, not money.
